Show time!
Dress Rehearsal and Show Day
What an amazing rehearsal week! We can not wait to see it all come together! Just a few reminders for both Friday’s dress rehearsal and Saturday’s show day
-Arrive 45 mins early with hair and makeup done, all costumes and head pieces in a covered bag, and all dance shoes!
-All dancers arrive through the front door
-Please do not park in the circle, you will towed
-There is a 15 min intermission, concession will be sold, cash only
-You can sign up and pay for the summer programs at the table in the foyer
-Please only get up in between numbers to change your dancer. This is a courtesy to fellow dancers in the stage
-Each dancer has worked so hard to get to show day, please do not shout out a dancers name while they are on stage. It causes them to get distracted! Don’t be the reason they don’t have an outstanding performance.

It’s almost showtime and we can not wait to kick off show week at Dance Project.
Please read all the following information and collect all needed paper work at the desk.
Final Payments
In order to get your show tickets, and for your dancer to perform in the show, your account must be paid in full! Please stop at the desk to get final totals, and to pick up your tickets! This also includes virtual program fee, and extra tickets.
All credit card payments must be made at the studio by Sunday, June 8th. After that totals must be paid by cash or bank check at the theater Tuesday or Wednesday. No checks or credit will be taken after Sunday!
Tickets can be picked up Sunday and Monday of this week!
When they are ready, we will send out an email!

Dress Rehearsal
-The show has a rough start time of 4:30pm. This allows for dancers to get out of school and get to the theater. Meaning it could start earlier or later, the blocked time leaves plenty of room to accommodate all!
-Dress Rehearsal will be ran in order of the show.
-This is a dress rehearsal! That means there may be times where the show is stopped or a number is restarted in order to make each dancer feel as comfortable as possible.
-It is a great opportunity to get some pictures and videos, respectfully, of your dancer, no flash!
Recordings and pictures are stickily prohibited at the show. We ask you wait to post anything until after the show on Saturday.
Show Day
Please arrive 45 mins early to the day of the show. Arrive to the theater with hair and make up done. Meet in the dressing room and wait for your dancer’s teacher to give you further instructions.
Please remember calling out your dancers name is very distracting to them. They have worked so hard all year long, please do not be the reason they get distracted!
All production dancers will meet for a warm-up on stage at 4:00 PM.
Doors will open at 5:30pm, show starts at 6pm!
This is a sold out show please be aware there no additional tickets to be sold at the door.
Concessions will be sold at the theater, cash only!
Parking
There are multiple parking lots available. The first one is near the main entrance off of Amherst St! This is where the circle is for drop off. Please do not park in the circle, this is the only way out of the parking lot, so please only use it for dropping off and picking up!
There’s also additional parking available off of Colvin ave. It can be accessed through either entrance of the school, on Colvin or the second Amherst Street entrance. This is a larger parking lot, there is a walkway from parking lot to the front of the auditorium doors!
We ask that all students changing in the lunchroom to enter from the front doors. Dancers who’s dressing rooms are the lunchroom, no one is permitted to enter through the stage door.
As well as, all audience members are only allowed access to the theater through the front door. The front door is located in front of the circle off of Amherst Street!
May 2025
Update 1
MONDAY BALLET CLASS CHANGE!!!
There will be no ballet for the 4:30-5:30 pm class on Monday, May 19th!
There will be no ballet for the 5:30-6:30 pm class on Monday, May 19th!
*A makeup class will be held in June.
The last ballet class, 6:30-8pm, will be held as normal on Monday, May 19th!
The studio will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 26th!
Performance Packets and T-shirts
All packets and t-shirt order forms must be turned in by Monday, May 19th. The T-shirt order will go in on Tuesday May 20th , and no additional orders will be taken.
Costume Distribution
Costumes will be distributed throughout the next two weeks. Be sure to check back often to make sure you do not miss your dancers distribution time!

A lot of important information will be given out throughout the next few weeks regarding our annual spring concert! Be sure to keep up to date on the website!

Spring Break
The studio will be closed for spring break Monday, April 14th-Monday April 21st. We will reopen Tuesday, April 22nd.

All Accounts must to be up-to date ASAP! as we near show time, please settle all accounts in order for your dancer to preform in the show! Late fees will be added.

In your email is the call times for each routine competing! A call time is when your dancer is in the dressing room, with hair and makeup done and ready to warm-up. Competitions may run ahead of time, that is why we have an early call time!

Everyone in attendance at an In10sity Event this season will be required to complete a 2025 In10sity Event Waiver. All waivers must be completed by the FIRST day of competition.

Competition Helpful Hints 2025!
-Proper attire must be worn all weekend long!
-Please pull hair back all weekend long, even if you are not dancing!
- Arrive Early! Check call times to ensure correct arrival times. Please allow for extra time!
-Bring plenty of water and a light healthy snack or lunch when needed.
-Be sure you have all your costume pieces. Do not wait to ask your teacher about a missing costume piece.

The rehearsal will be held from 4- 10pm, check the competition page for times. Parents can drop off and pick up at the side door, in the parking lot.
Competition stages are larger than our studio space, so it is imperative that the dancers have an opportunity to dance in the exact size that they will be performing on.
Calling all Prop Dads
This is an extremely important duty, and we are asking if you would consider helping out with props this year. Responsibilities include picking the props up from the studio, dropping them off at the venue as well as setting them on stage and removing them!
If picking them up and dropping them off is not an option, but you would like to help set props and remove them from the stage please let us now! A list will be started at the desk, please put down your name and phone number.
A Rehearsal schedule will be given to the prop dad's. We will be rehearsing where the props need to be placed. Thank you in advance for your support!

Greetings, Dance Project family,
It's hard to believe we're already into a second month of 2025!
Winter Break
They Studio will be closed for winter break Monday, February 17 and re-open on Saturday, February 22. We will reopen Saturday as a makeup class for the studio being closed for competition in April.
If your child is in a competition class, please check with your dancer’s instructor for class times.
Attendance
Before you know it, it will be Competiton and our annual spring concert. It is imperative that all dancers attend their regularly scheduled classes, unless they are sick. If they are not contagious, and do not have a fever, it is advised that your child come to class and sit to be able to mentally see and learn the material. If your child is not attending, please call the studio and leave a message as to the reason why they will not be in class. It is best if a phone call is made as opposed to an email in this regard.

There is a $20 late fee added onto fees not paid on time.

Happy new year!
We had an outstanding December, from our holiday parties and gift exchange, to Roswell’s Tree Lighting of Hope, we hope everyone had a wonderful and healthy holiday. We have a wonderful year planed for 2025 and cannot wait to share it all with you!
Accounts
Accounts that are past due have a late fee added to them of $20 per month. In order for your dancer to continue lessons all accounts must be up to date ASAP. Help us to help you, to avoid us from having to hold your child out of class. Please contact the desk for balances.
If you have a costume balance, it must be paid in order for costumes to be ordered. With competition coming up, if not paid, you could risk your dancer’s costume not arriving in time.

Spring Concert News
We are so excited to announce that our 33rd annual Spring concert will be held at Flickinger Performing Arts Center. The theater is located on the Nichols School Campus in North Buffalo.The performance will be Saturday June 14th, dress rehearsal on Friday June 13, with blocking rehearsal the week of. More information to come!

Studio Closing
The studio will be closed for holiday break from Monday, December 23rd, through Friday, January 3rd, 2025. The studio will reopen on Saturday, January 4th, 2025!
Class holiday parties with gift exchange

-The event will take place Friday, December 13th, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Roswell Park’s Kaminski Park and Gardens. All are welcome to attend.
-Free parking is available for you in the Roswell Park parking ramp. Please keep in mind that roads will close beginning at 4:00 PM.

Greetings, Dance Project family,
It's hard to believe it’s already November, and the holidays are right around the corner. Please read this email in it's entirety!
Studio Closing
The studio will be closed for Veterans Day, Monday November 11th.
We will also be closed for Thanksgiving break from Monday November 25th through and including, Saturday November 30th. The studio will reopen on Monday December 2nd!
If you are doing a specialty and not traveling for the holiday, Ms Darlene will be scheduling rehearsal and choreography time. Please let her know if you will not be in town ASAP.
Please check the Studio Facebook page after 2 PM to see if the studio is closed due to inclement weather.
We will also be listed on channel 2, channel 4, and channel 7. Always check the Facebook page in addition to either the channel scrolling or website listings. On occasion when the news channels are inundated with multiple closings, it may take a bit for our listing to be shown. Please note that the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff is always our main concern.
Class Attendance
If for any reason, your child cannot come to class, please call the studio snd give their name, class, and reason for not attending. Please do not send an email, sometimes emails are seen after class times. If your child is not contagious and can come and sit and watch class, it would be extremely helpful for them.
Costume Deposits
Costume deposits are due during the month of November. Please check at the desk for your costume balances. Late costume balances are subject to a late fee.
Save the date
Dance Project will be performing once again at the Roswell Park Tree of Hope Lighting Ceremony, Friday December 13! The event is free and gets everyone in the holiday spirt, more info to come!

Greetings Dance Project family,
Wow, what a September and we are just getting started!
Dance Project was invited to Giordano Dance Chicago masterclass at UB Center for the Arts! Giordano Dance Chicago is America’s Original Jazz Dance Company, established in 1963. Our dancers received a special invitation to participate in a masterclass held at UB, and was invited to the showcase put on by the company. It was a magical night for all!
This past week, Dance Project hosted Sam Fiorello for a masterclass and alumni class. If you were there, you know the love that was felt in the room. Thank you to all!

If your dancer is interested or signed up for a specialty, Half the amount is due before the routine is started. Then the remainder of payments will be due before the second lesson. Some routines have been started, please do not wait sign up!

The joy and gratitude felt by the Dance Project faculty and staff as our dancers entered the studio for our new season was incredible. Classes reunited eager to be together once again. We are thrilled to welcome Ava Philippone (musical theater) and Mikayla Gallivan (Hip Hop) to the Dance Project faculty!
Competition NewS
We are one of the only studios that do not audition to be apart of our competition team. We believe our dancers are a part of a team, representing everyone.
We do however, require all dancers competing to take ballet. Ballet is the foundation for all dance, it is imperative for each and every dancer to be enrolled in a ballet class. You will be contacted if your dancer is not enrolled in a ballet class, and it will be added on. Any question please stop at the desk.
Is your dancer interested in trying something new, ask at the desk about adding on a class! We have new classes for our little ones!

Specialty
If your dancer is interested or signed up for a specialty, Half the amount is due before the routine is started. Then the remainder of payments will be due before the second lesson. Some routines have been started, please do not wait sign up!

It's hard to believe our 33rd season is just right around the corner!
Thank you to all of our dancers who participated in our summer workshops. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to study with so many guest teachers and to get inspired for the future!
Competition Team
We will be holding a competition team meeting early in September. All competition dancers and a parent must attend. Date and time TBA. We will be discussing competitions we will be attending as well as additional performances.

2024-2025 Registration
We ask that all current students register, on Tuesday August 20th and Thursday August 22nd 5-7pm. It is imperative that we know how many students are registered for each class. There have been some changes to the schedule this year that may affect you. There must be a minimum number of students to be able to warrant having a class, if you wait until September to register, that class may not be offered. . This will help in scheduling new classes, as well as knowing the class sizes moving forward. Please don't assume that we know what classes your child is taking. By working together we can ensure everyone is placed properly.
Specialties
If your dancer is interested in a specialty, (solo, duo, trio, quad) due to the overwhelming success and demand for specialties we are now starting taking deposits to reserve your spot! A $100 deposit (cash only) will be required to reserve a specialty. We will have a limit on the number of specialties. A schedule will be going out very soon regarding the start of specialties. So please do not wait to be added!
To say we are excited about the upcoming season is an understatement.

Greetings, Dance Project family,
It's taking me a few minutes to catch my breath after such an incredible week at Empire Dance Challenge National Competition, in Niagara Falls. Dance Project was crowned the top scoring studio for the second year in a row! In addition to ‘Bourbon Street’ receiving the highest scoring routine in the entire competition, ‘Honey Bee’ receiving the second highest scoring routine in the Downtown devision, Dance Project received several ‘Top 10’ overall awards, judges choice awards and spotlight awards for precision, emotional execution and choreography. We also received the choreography award for our entire body of work during the teen duo and senior session! Dance Project represented in the Performer of the Year competition, Ava being crowned Emipre’s 2024 National senior Performer of the year, Nicholas being crowned Emipre’s 2024 National Mini Male Performer of the year and many other Dance Project soloist placing in the runner positions across all age levels! To say we are proud of each, and every dancer is an understatement.
Our dancers left their heart and soul on that stage. This kind of magic doesn't just happen, it is the culmination of hard work, dedication and commitment all year long. As wonderful as it is in receiving all of the accolades, what I am most proud of is the support and respect of each and every dancer. From our little's running back to greet our dancers as they came off stage, to seeing a flood of Dance Project jackets in the audience to cheer on their team first thing in the morning! Every emotion was felt as our seniors took the stage for the very last time together. To sum up the week it truly was one for the books. What incredible memories were made, and I am so excited for the memories that are to come. I know I speak for our entire faculty and staff when I say, Dance Project dancers, you made us proud!
